A source close to Senator Al Franken (D-Minn..) Office has confirmed that Senator George LeMieux (R-FLA.) will sponsor next End Debt Collector abuse bill Franken.
Driven by a number of Star Tribune articles on collectors.XML caustic and ruthless debt that threaten, insult, and terrorizing the borrowers Americans - some of which are completely innocent - Franken Act, said, "is on companies that target and harassing and business based on the Web without just cause".
Among other things, End Debt Collector abuse Act would prohibit arrest warrants for collectors.XML trying the deudas.También fundraising, could toughen existing penalties against collectors.XML using illegal, slander and threats of violence, methods to raise money.
"This Bill protecting Web-based business will keep honest collectors.XML debt and stop the misuse of resources from the application of the law for private profit," Franken told reporters.
Yesterday, Franken announced plans to introduce the Bill later this week, but LeMieux, whose status has been especially hard hit by the crisis in mortgages, had not yet accepted a sponsorship.
